Brit-picking question

If I am British and I want to remind myself to be composed, to get a handle on my emotions, what would I say?  In the U.S. I might tell myself to, "Get a grip," or "Get a hold of yourself."

Get a grip is a very British expression - The Hubs uses it all the time.

Yes, get a grip would be fine.

Or simply "calm down".
