#9 It's A Wonderful Life

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Of course, that's one of your faves, too, isn't it?

[identity profile] irishredlass69.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
*grins* indeed it is... in fact I almost used that quote.

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Great minds think alike. :D

[identity profile] odogoddess.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
1. Galaxy Quest
5. Star Wars: A New Hope
10. Return Of The King

[identity profile] averygoodun.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Galaxy Quest! How could I forget Galaxy Quest?

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
By Grabthar's Hammer, how could you forget? :D

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
You're right on all counts!

[identity profile] averygoodun.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
#5 is Star Wars (ep 4)!

#1 is soooo familiar, and I know I know half the others. *tries to jog memory* *fails*

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yes to Number 5!

That soooo familiar feeling is what I've had to quotes on other people's journals.

[identity profile] beffeysue.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I think #7 is from Bride & Prejudice.
And I think #6 is from Persuasion.

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes to both!

[identity profile] morethansirius.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Anne Elliot said #6 in Persuasion. I'm afraid that's all I've got since odogoddess already took Galaxy Quest!

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right!

[identity profile] lady-rhian.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
#2 is totally The Princess Bride!

#7 is Bride & Prejudice - LOVE that movie.

[identity profile] averygoodun.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
B&P is fabulous, isn't it?

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
It's one of my guilty pleasures. :D

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Right on both counts.

You really ought to be able to get #8, too, and that's the only one I have left.

You could get it... or [profile] elise_wanderer hint, hint, hint

[identity profile] lady-rhian.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Casablanca. Of course. ~headdesk~

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I didn't choose one of the more famous quotes...
keladry_lupin: (Smile (Elinor))

[personal profile] keladry_lupin 2011-05-16 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
4. Sense and Sensibility. (I love that scene. I was just telling Phil about that scene!)

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! It's a lovely scene between Eleanor and Mrs. Dashwood.

[identity profile] bambu345.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
To continue from #1. "Its motivation! Its motivation? It doesn't have motivation. It's a rock!" Galaxy Quest (a family favorite.)

#4 is Sense and Sensibility. It's from when Elinor has heard that Edward is married ... erroneously as it turns out.

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes on both counts!

("That's the trouble with you, Jason. You were never serious about the craft!")

[identity profile] bambu345.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
::dies laughing::

I love Galaxy Quest. It's just so bloody funny, and Rickman is brilliant in it. He does the most brilliant job of showing how a line can be delivered for maximum impact, from disdain to heartfelt meaning. Sigh. He's such an excellent actor.

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. It is funny, and being a bit of a Trekkie, I really enjoy the satire.

I almost think this is my favorite Rickman movie. That look in his eyes when he is getting ready to attack the alien that shot Quillek is just awesome!

[identity profile] dickgloucester.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
3 - Mamma Mia

7 - Bride and Prejudice

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, someone who apparently shares some of the same guilty pleasures as I do. :D

[identity profile] dickgloucester.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Why be guilty? Let it all hang out, I say!

[identity profile] talloakslady.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
6: Persuasian.

[identity profile] bambu345.livejournal.com 2011-05-16 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I know #8, I just can't quite remember. It's a tertiary character .... argh. You know, of course, it'll come to me in the middle of the night. I just KNOW this.

Wait!

Wait.

It's ... blast ... I don't remember the name of the character, but I'm pretty sure it's Casablanca and it's about Rick. But it's not Claude Raines who says it. It's that nasty German Commandant, I think. With the clipped diction.

[identity profile] m-mcgonagall-65.livejournal.com 2011-05-17 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Right, it is Major Strasser!

Given how "quotable" Casablanca is, I didn't want to pick one of the obvious quotes. "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, why did she have to walk into mine?"
